FAQs

  • We get it, for those who think improv is for actors or comedians, it can be a news to them that improv has incredible benefits for business.

    We suggest telling them this:

If your team isn’t communicating well…

If you want to help your company develop skills to work together more effectively…

If you want to help employees gain confidence to share their ideas…

(or any of the other benefits we’ve listed)

Then you should bring improv to work!

An improv session with iMERGENCE can help teams improve in all these areas and more. We can focus on brainstorming, creative collaboration, presentation skills, active listening, and help improve the ability to think on your feet.

Everyone can benefit from a session. Truly, everyone: C-suite, management, cross-team communication, sales, marketing, introverts, bossy team members, people whose first language is not English, client relations. Literally everyone, you get the idea! Every corporate session and workshop is customizable!

You can direct them to our CLIENT page or TESTIMONIALS page to show them other businesses that have transformed working with us.

IF IT HELPS, we are always available to get on a call with your supervisor or whomever has the final say.

  • We can come to you, you can come to us, or we can meet virtually over Zoom!

In-person sessions work best when there is an open space where participants can move freely and stand in a circle. So depending on what type of space your office has, we can help you determine if we come to you or you come to us.

We can also do sessions virtually with either each different location on a Zoom or each participant on their own personal computer.

We have studios in New York City and Los Angeles. However, we can design programs anywhere you are.

  • Anywhere from 6-600! It all depends on the format and type of corporate improv workshop you choose. Simply check out session topics here and talk to us about options specific to your needs.

  • Prices are determined by the number of participants, the duration of the session, the type of event, and if it’s a virtual or in-person session. Check out session topics here and talk to us to choose the best option for your team.

  • While there are many personal development options out there, few are able to deliver an experiential-based approach to learning like improv does. IMERGENCE provides an interactive experience that gets participants using their creativity in ways that you simply can’t get from a PDF or presentation. Participants learn by DOING. Valuable life, communication and teamwork skills emerge from improv – listening without an agenda, pivoting, taking care of the whole, emotional intelligence and awareness. After learning improv, team members gain confidence using these skills because they’ve practiced and experienced them.

  • Most definitely! We often travel all over the U.S. and the globe leading trainings for companies of any size.

  • Good question and YOU BET! As a matter of fact, what makes our trainings not only extremely popular, but also highly successful is the fact that they are also fun. The fun allows everyone to relax, let down their guard, and play. It allows the valuable lessons to land in a deeper place.

Our facilitators are experts and delivering important tools and insights while keeping it light and engaging. We call it our secret weapon of “kale in the brownie!”

Wondering what it’s like to work together?

Here are more questions we get…with answers!

What do your sessions include?

  • An initial consultation with our Director of Corporate Education

  • Customized content with bespoke content that aligns with your objectives

  • An optional check-in call prior to the event to review the session together

  • Our highly-trained, expert iMergence facilitators prepped specifically for your session

  • If you need, studio space to run the session with the addition of our Studio package

Let’s say I’m interested to book a training with you — how does it work?

First of all, congrats on a great choice! It’s an easy process. However, you want all the step-by-step details, we understand:

Step 1: Complete our form submission here.

Step 2: You’ll receive an email within 12 hours (usually much sooner) setting up a consultation with our Director of Corporate Education, Sarah Hicks to collaborate on how we can best assist your company, narrow down options, and answer any questions you may have.

(don’t worry, if you prefer to just be sent a proposal with several options based on your form, we can do that too!)

Step 3: You’ll receive a customized proposal with program options that align perfectly with your team's needs.

Step 4: Review, sign and pay all in one document. You’ll then be booked!

Step 5: There’s an optional touch-base the week before your event, to cross all the “t’s” and make any needed adjustments.

Step 6: Our professional facilitators show up raring to go for fun and transformation, and your event is the hit of the season!

Step 7: We check in after the event to hear how it went and share insights from our facilitators.

That’s it! We're here to make the process seamless and stress-free for you, so you can focus on what you do best while we take care of the rest.

I’m not the decision-maker unfortunately. Can you help with that?

Most definitely! We got you! We are happy to hop on calls with leadership to elaborate on the benefits of improv, how our sessions work, and how the skills we teach will leave a lasting impact on your organization.

Where do the sessions take place? Can you come to our office?

We can come to you, you can come to us, or we can meet virtually over Zoom!

In-person sessions work  best when there is an open space where participants can move freely and stand in a circle. Our Project Manager is on hand to help determine how to utilize your space to the needs of our workshops.

We can also do sessions virtually on Zoom with each participant on their own personal computer.

If you want to use our space, we work all throughout lower Manhattan and can fit up to 50 participants in our various locations.

How should we set up our space? What kind of space works best?

All of our workshops require participants to be able to stand in a circle, free of any furniture, and be able to walk around easily. Large conference rooms or open office spaces work well. The session will be rather loud, so there should not be other non-participants in the area. We will also be in a position where participants will be asked to stretch their comfort zones, so the space should be private enough that other non participants won’t be able to watch.

What makes a space NOT work for your workshops?

There should be NO immovable furniture in the way of the participants. The usual bad culprit is a large conference table that is bolted to the ground. Also, participants should be able to hear one another, but not everything else that’s going on in the building, so no loud music playing in a lobby, or other loud events going on nearby.

What forms of payment do you accept and when do we need to pay you by?

We accept Bank transfers, ACH, checks and all major credit cards as forms of payment.

For events over $10,000, we ask for a 50% payment upon signing with the second payment due 30 days after the event. For all other events, our NET is 30 days.

Who are the facilitators, and how prepared are they to train our team?

Our facilitators are a diverse group of highly-trained improv professionals who come from a wide array of backgrounds— actors, lawyers, IT professionals, university professors, performers and more — so they each bring their unique backgrounds and experiences combined with their training to support your team.

We prepare all of our facilitators in the iMERGENCE Methodology which includes improvisation experise, emotional intelligence, and current business models of development.

And, even though we’re a little biased, our facilitators are some of the most fun, professional, positive, and caring people around!

What’s a good group size?

We recommend having at least 6 people on your team join in on the fun. Other than that, any size works for us. Yes, even 600!

Want something one on one, or for a small group of 2 or 3? We can steer you in the right direction with our individualized coaching team.
